EASA certifies the EC175

On the 27th of January, EASA formally approved the recommendation of issue of the type certification of the Airbus Helicopter EC175. This is one of the newest members of the company’s twin engined helicopter family which has met with praise from captains fortunate enough to fly the demonstration models during a recent tour of Asia. All of this is good news for the newly re-named company and is the culmination of a lot of hard work from all areas.

So, what does this mean to Rusada? Well apart from supplying Airbus Helicopters with our Envision software for their service centres and CAMO business, we are also proud to have Noordzee Helikopter Vlaanderen as one of our premier clients. NHV will be one of the launch customers for the EC175, having signed a deal for 10 aircraft last year.

The Belgian company was founded on May 16, 1997, and specialises in business to business helicopter transportation. It provides services for the Belgian and Dutch Maritime Pilot Service; search and rescue (SAR) missions for the Dutch Ministry of Defense; oil and gas industry transportation in Europe, South America and Africa; along with emergency medical airlift for various European hospitals.

Which means that the platform will soon be added to the existing compliment of EC airframes managed by our configuration control and life code functionality within the wider application.

We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Airbus Helicopters on their recent success.
