Dubai – a very royal experience

Dubai: A Royally great experience

Wow! So 11 days ago we were writing to tell you about our upcoming trip to Dubai for Aviation Week’s MRO ME 2015 exhibition and our own user conference straight afterwards. Those 11 days have flown in. So where to begin…

Being based out of our Glasgow office makes getting to Dubai very straightforward. A direct, eight-hour flight with Emirates and you are there. I must say that Emirates is by far one of the best airlines I’ve flown with. Their customer service is second to none. Not being allowed into the hall to set up until 12pm on the Sunday gave us time to do some early morning sightseeing – this involved a trip up the Burj Khalifa and to the giant aquarium in one of the massive shopping malls. Dubai is a really fascinating place.

MRO ME 2015

So, onto the exhibition itself. We had never exhibited in the UAE before and it was a great experience. No hassles whatsoever. Having previously exhibited at MRO Europe and MRO Americas we were disappointed to see that the footfall was a little lower than we expected. I’m sure in time this will grow as it is the youngest of all the Aviation Week MRO shows. What did cap off a very worthwhile show in terms of leads collected was the surprise visit to our stand by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum! Tim, our Commercial Director, has met Her Majesty The Queen before but meeting royalty was a first for Scott, our Marketing Coordinator. HH Sheikh Ahmed was a wonderfully polite man. He was extremely interested to hear who uses our MRO IT software, especially seeing as we have a number of customers based in UAE.

Rusada user conference | Dubai 2015

As mentioned in the previous blog, the Wednesday and Thursday after MRO ME 2015 we had decided to organise our own user conference. I’m so glad we did this as it was a great experience. Not only did we get to showcase our product road map for 2015 and our developments within our web and tablet applications but it also allowed us to get out customers interacting with each. We feel that customer interaction with each other is a necessity as it allows people to share ideas and solutions. The workshops we held on the second day were testament to this. We’ve come away already thinking about what we can do in the next user conference to add to the experience for our customers.

Aircraft Commerce’s MRO & Operations IT Conference | Miami

So it’s Dubai-bye to the UAE and hello to the USA. Up next for us is Aircraft Commerce’s Airline & Aerospace MRO & Operations IT conference in Miami, Florida. Taking place at the Hyatt Regency in Downtown Miami over 24th & 25th of March, we will be in attendance for the first of three Aircraft Commerce conferences in 2015. We will also be showcasing our brand new exhibition stand for all to see. So if you’re attending the Miami conference why not come by E40 and say hello – we’ve met royalty, you know!
